Hispanic Business Woman Judith
Martinez-Sadri is Honored at First
Annual Women of AWE Awards
Atlanta - March 6, 2008 -
Editor-in-Chief and co-founder of
Atlanta Latino Newspaper, Judith Martinez
Sadri, received an award at the First
Annual Atlanta Women's Expo Awards
Luncheon presented by General Motors
and Skirt! Magazine this past Saturday,
March 1st at the Gwinnett Civic Center.
Two other women were also honored
along with Mrs. Martinez-Sadri at
the awards ceremony. Jovita Moore,
Channel 2 Action News anchor, and
April Fawcett Nagel, CEO of firstPRO
Staffing Inc., also received accolades
at Saturday's luncheon.
Araba O. Dowell, co-organizer of
the event and SE Region Communications
Manager for GM stated, "These
women are the 'movers and shakers'
of the community. They are highly
respected leaders and are a model
of excellence." Ms. Dowell added,
"Fifty years down the road, the
Atlanta Women's Expo may have named
more winners, but these three ladies
will always be remembered as being
the first women honored."
The ATL Women's Expo is a two-day
event marking 2008 as its second year
of existence. More than 2,500 women
from all over metro-Atlanta came to
the expo to learn, become inspired,
and to have a good time. "This
event offers an excellent opportunity
to come together as a group and focus
on the issues and products important
to women today." said Rose Sipin,
ATL Women's Expo Founder & Promoter.
"These ladies who were honored
exemplify the spirit and value for
which all women strive." Over
180 vendors set up exhibitor booths
at the Gwinnett Civic Center, catering
to the needs of women in general.
The attendees who came to this one-of-a-kind
event received advice, information
and product demonstrations for the
purpose of enhancing and improving
the lives of Georgia women.
